E Fund Management Co. Ltd. was established on 17th April 2001 with a paid-in capital of RMB 120 million. Shareholders of the Company include such prominent financial institutions as GF Securities and Guangdong Finance Trust & Investment Company.

With the past years, E Fund Management has delivered solid performance to the institutions and investing public on a consistent basis. As a result, assets under management have grown from zero to over RMB95 billion as of 31st March 2007, ranking it one of the independent fund managers in China. E Fund Management is also one of the six fund management firms that are qualified for managing investment portfolios for both the National Council for Social Security Fund and MOLSS Decree 23 compliant enterprise annuity schemes.

Ever since its preparatory phase, founders of E Fund Management have committed to building a corporate governance structure focused on the check and balance among the decision making, execution and monitoring functions of the company. This structure lays a solid foundation for the sound development of the company in the long run.

There is a consensus on the management philosophy, clear division of responsibilities, check and balance, and high degree of collaboration among the company’s shareholders, board of directors, supervisory board and management.
E Fund Management is one of the first fund management firms in China to invite independent members to its board of directors. It has 9 board members, of which 3 are independent. These independent directors have made important contributions in terms of strategic planning, regulatory compliance, independence of board decisions, as well as improving the overall management efficiency of the firm.
